Questions to ask yourself when recording your observations

(a)    What made me notice and want to tell the story?

(b)   What did it make me wonder about or was I stopped short by anything that surprised me?

(c)     What did I learn about a particular child or children in general?

(d)   Was there something I saw one or two children doing for the first time, and it made a difference? (This is especially things like paying attention, speaking in front of a group, making a friend, taking a turn, waiting for a turn, usually those socio emotional things)

(e)   Where might this go? Or was this just a moment in time and they were just ‘being’?
